Zou hem ook met name willen zien of de wijzerplaat niet tè is.
Inderdaad gewoon ergens beginnen met passen en over twee weken zien we de foto’s wel verschijnen.

Klein tekstje over proporties aan de hand van een visuele vergelijking tussen de dials van de SBGV011 en de 4520-7000

This looked like an interesting head2head for #seikosunday with these expressively lugged, stainless steel and dark dialed but otherwise completely different Grand Seikos!
_Both are drop dead gorgeous of course but note how the proportions of the indexes (they actually have a width to speak of) and hands of the 57GS reissue #SBGV011 make its dial significanly more legible… _
_Proportions are why the early “modern” Grand Seiko’s (I consider these to be the 57GS, 44GS and, to a lesser degree because of its scale the 62GS) are often wrongly considered to be “simple” and (universe forbid) “boring”, when they are in fact incredibly thorough excersises in " limiting oneself to shaping only the Essential in the best way for function and visual pleasure". _
_To see proportion you need training. It’s like learning about champagne by tasting them side by side! Much like champagne, different (simple) shapes have different character and expression. It is all down to how their dimensions relate within the shape and between adjacent shapes (like the indices on a dial). _
_If a shape isn’t wide enough for its length (for instance the Batwings indices), it loses internal proportion and (part of) its visual impact and ability to enter into proportion with adjacent shapes. The effect is that the dial is seen as and empty disc with lines, an empty square with some loose furniture on it if you will. _
_By contrast, the 57’s are significantly wide enough for them to have internal proportion and the distance between the indices is such that the indices “enter into proportion” with one another. The effect is such that, by the clear mass of these indices, the void between them and across the dial, becomes more defined and clear. It feels like a well proportioned collonade shaping a perfect courtyard. _
To me the difference in visual strength, and identity as a whole of the watch, is quite staggering.

Deze foto nam ik in Oktober op de GS meet & greet.
Maar dat was niet mijn horloge …
En nu is die Selfdater gaan jeuken.
Modern (quartz) en Vintage (automaat) zijn allebei opties.
Is er toevallig iemand die “af wil” van de zijne?
Hoeft niet op staal trouwens.
