Karl-Heinz Kalbfell and Georges-Henri Meylan, Chief Executives of, respectively, Maserati and Audemars Piguet, signed a new sponsorship and partnership contract today in Modena. The famous Swiss watchmakers will now go on working closely with the Trident company.

As part of the agreement, Audemars Piguet will also continue to be official supplier of Maserati cars that compete in GT categories.

The contract signed today renews and broadens the agreement between the two companies signed in February 2004. This saw Audemars Piguet become the sponsor of the Trofeo Maserati Europa and official supplier of the MC12s that made their competition debut in 2004. In 2005, the official Audemars Piguet logo appeared on the Trofeo cars and the official MC12 that raced in the North American ALMS championship. It is also displayed on the Vitaphone Racing Team MC12 that won the 2005 FIA GT team title.

In the first two years of their collaboration, Maserati and Audemars Piguet have given life to some exciting and successful projects. One of these was the Dual Time Millenary Maserati watch, a masterpiece created to celebrate 90 years since the founding of the motoring company based in Modena. Audemars Piguet and Maserati have also effectively cooperated to host many co-marketing events.

Confirming that the intention of both companies is to continue with joint marketing and communication activities, Georges-Henri Meylan stated that: “Our partnership with Maserati mirrors the common drive for perfection inherent in creating exceptional watches and automobiles that are distinguished by their high technology and inimitable style.”

Karl-Heinz Kalbfell declared: “The renewal and broadening of the agreement with Audemars Piguet is a further confirmation of the convergence in interest between the two companies. Though we operate in different fields, we have both always stood for common values of heritage, excellence and innovation.”
