zit toch ook wel te kijken naar de nieuwr Tsuyosa Shore serie…
Ze zijn iets vroeg met de viering ja, de release van de Crystron Solar Cell was in september 1976 volgens Citizen, maar de productie begon al in juni, serial 606xxxxx. Ik heb een junk exemplaar van 606, maar een NOS exemplaar ging in augustus 2025 voor €300 weg in Japan. Met BTW erbij vond ik dat net ff te veel, maar het was wel een unieke kans. Ik vind hem met witte wijzerplaat en zwarte achtergrond zoals jij hebt mooier, ben geen fan van het beige op de versie met zwarte wijzerplaat.

Kwam net een historisch weetje tegen in een Japanse advertentie, namelijk dat Citizen Watch Co. rond WOII een andere naam had, om niet de taal van de vijand te gebruiken.

[About Dai Nippon Tokei Co., Ltd. (1938-1947)] In
1930 (Showa 5), "Citizen Watch Co., Ltd." was established in Takadanobaba.
In 1936 (Showa 11), as wartime conditions intensified, the Tanashi factory was completed in Tanashi-machi, Kitatama-gun (present-day Nishitokyo City), which was then a hub for the munitions industry. Two years later, in 1938 (Showa 13), the company name was changed to “Dai Nippon Tokei Co., Ltd.” out of consideration for not using enemy language. During the war, the expansion of military production led to a noticeable reduction in civilian production, and the company manufactured watch products and time fuses for export. After the war, overcoming challenges such as the designation of its Yodogawa and Tanashi factories as reparations facilities by GHQ, the company quickly recovered and grew to become the second largest watch manufacturer in Japan after Seiko. In 1948, the company name was changed back to “Citizen Watch Co., Ltd.”
