Hi All, my name is Rudy and I am a watch collector from Canada. I will be visiting Holland next week Tuesday November 27 until December 4. On the 3rd I’m driving to France to pick up another watch I just bought and be back in Holland the next day.
I am a longtime member of Redbar Toronto, an international watch collectors group started in NYC a number of years ago now. Redbar members meet once or twice a months and it’s a real fun thing to meet fellow collectors. Oftentimes we (or a small select group) are invited to watch retailers or they’ll come see us. Brand ambassadors have their presentations too from time to time. Redbar is ‘inclusive’ is for everyone and is always ‘free’; that is important because our members range from the $100 to plus$100,000 timepiece collectors. What is interesting is that you see interaction between members of all ages and lifestyle sharing their passion at an equal level. I’ve witnessed conversations between members where a junior collector knew to tell more about a particular watch than it’s owner who just brought in his $45k watch in this passionate interaction.
I don’t believe there is Redbar in Holland yet is there?

Wherever I travel I like to meet fellow collectors/watchmakers or watch brands and I’m wondering if there are any get-togethers scheduled during my short visit in Holland.
Please let me know. I’m keen to meet a group of collectors and/or watch makers.
Why did you choose Heineken as a nickname?
Heineken is like Seiko: If there is nothing else, it will satisfy but there is much more and almost everything will be better
The Dutch do it them selfs at big (inter)national events. Cheering; holland, holland.
Or on popular tv-shows like Heel Holland Zingt of Holland’s got talent.
You can’t blame foreigners if they call it Holland.
Change need to come from the Netherlanders. I see a lot of these comments on YouTube as well. If the Dutch want it changed, talk to your fellow Dutchmen. Nót the foreigners.
Han is right. The Netherlands has Utrecht and 2 transition areas to both Germany and Belgium. Even though it is a sort of no man’s land, it is part of the Netherlands.
I believe that is to make sure we wont see another Blof.
We hebben in Nederland volgens mij nog wel wat mensen met connecties binnen de horlogewereld. AVW als handelaar/winkel en de websites Fratello en Monochrome zijn volgens mij ook van Nederlanders.
I thought everyone really liked Heineken over there (see how I avoided sayIng Holland? ) but I should have known upon my surprise that ‘Heineken’ was still available as a users name.
To everyone, Carolyn (my wife) and I will be staying at a hotel in Dordrecht. I realize you guys must be busy with your Sinterklaas celebrations but if you have time how doesThursday or Friday evening sound at the hotel in Dordrecht (November 28 or 29).
Just to get some feelers out there for the date preference. Time will be 7pm til late (if you’re earlier we’ll surely meet up.
