Early Rolex GMT-Master 1675

I’ve just now joined this forum and do not speak dutch, so to be frank I will probably not hang around either. This watch is supposed to be a very early 1675 with the “horn/beak” crown guards. It is not my watch.

Before you ask, I don’t have any pictures of the movement either. The owner (seller) is not co-operating to provide them. Obviously this is a big alarm bell and reason enough to avoid this watch all together. I’m not expecting to find out the truth here, but I do find it interesting to discuss this.

I’d love to hear your comments on this watch, please also note if you have ever seen/handled/owned a 1675. I’ll also add a poll.

For this amount of money you should be absolutely convinced of its authenticity. Good luck with that. Buy the seller.

Move on.

Visit Vintage Rolex Forum instead. You’ll find much more knowledge with regard to this type of watches. However a seller who isn’t cooperating in sharing more pictures… hmmm…

Just being curious, how much is the seller looking to get for it?

Sounds like someone made a real project of this one, does not sound appealing at all for me personally…

As Bono would say,

Dat is hetzelfde horloge. Hartstikke fake dus.

Thank you!

I’ve tried reverse-image searching some of the images, but could not find anything. May I ask, how you did?

I was convinced it was a “frankenwatch” with at least not the original movement and most likely some other aftermarket/fake parts. But I was sure that the case was at least original, I’ve never seen a (decent) fake early 1675 case.

Turns out, only the crown is real :joy: ! They did do a good job on this one…

I’m wondering, is the seller advertising the watch as being genuine? What is he asking for the watch?

Why would you post this on a Dutch watch forum when there are so many English forums around?

Waarschijnlijk om even anoniem te checken of deze fake goed genoeg is om hem te kunnen verkopen als echt… Als hij dat op een Engels forum doet is het meteen voor iedereen gemakkelijk terug te vinden
