Hierbij een post van Elysee zelf op Watch Freaks van Mei 2014:
"In the past, we used some chinese movements in our watches. They were nice, good looking, nice function, but horrible in their quality.
Our U.S. distributor bought and sold them in the U.S.
We are giving every partner a service contribution (we pay the partner upfront for possible repairs. Because it makes no sense that somebody sends back a watch for 300$ to Germany, we replace a lens or anything else and send it back.
Unfortunately, this wasn't a honest company and stopped doing the service in the U.S.. Didn't answers on mails etc.
We here in Germany didn't get any note from the U.S. customers and could react.
Even that we paid already the partner (who didn't do his job), we would help ELYSEE customers.
We in Germany stopped two years ago producing watches with these kind of movements. Nowadays we are using only high quality movements (ETA, Valjoux, Unitas, Ronda, Miyota, Seiko), producing everything in Germany (Made in Germany) etc. So it changed a lot!"
Wat overigens niet betekent dat er geen goede Chinese uurwerken zijn. Die zijn er zeker wel. Enkel is de de Q & A uiterst belangrijk & die is nogal variabel. Om het vriendelijk te zeggen
