Omega Speedmaster MK4.5 automatic chronograph, just serviced

Morning all

Took this in trade from a mate a few weeks back and haven’t worn it since, sigh, I know I know but my Railmaster is getting most of my wrist time at the moment.

The watch is circa 1982 Speedmaster MK4.5 chronograph, running a serviced 1045 automatic chronograph movement. It really is a thing of beauty and a very pleasant watch to wear, very comfortable as either a dress watch or a sports watch.

It has just been overhauled by my usual source so it is in tip-top working condition, the watch is completely original, the only things that have being replaced are the seal, crystal and tachymeter and the crown and pushers (for obvious reasons)

The watch is dink free and has the correct and original finish; I would say is as good and example as you are likely to find TBH, there is virtually no wear on the case or case back and it has had the correct finish applied.

The watch is Omega with it’s original SS 1162 bracelet (again correctly finished) but can be supplied on NOS original brown Omega leather with Omega buckle, the choice is yours

Condition is outstanding following service and overhaul, it will come with a 1 year limited warranty (through me):

Case: Near perfect, just refinished as part of the service

Case back: Near perfect, extremely good hippocampus

Crystal and Tachy: NOS just replaced

Pushers and crown: correct Omega

Dial: Original and very good patina

Hands and date: all original with even age, date shows some age (visible in pics)

Bracelet/ strap: Original 1162 with correct finish to fit a VERY large wrist or Omega NOS vintage brown leather with Omega buckle

I am looking for a very reasonable but firm £900 including shipping (paypal +4%)

Please remember this is a near mint, in fact as close to perfect as I have seen, serviced and overhauled and extremely rare Omega chronograph[/b]

Couple of questions already:

  1. yes ALL functions are working perfectly, the watch has being fully overhauled including the movement by my watch maker (Omega) and as such it is in tip top condition.

  2. Serial number is 45 mil dating it to around 1982

  3. As you can see the case is dink free, it was refinished correctly (with stardust finish applied by hand) by the same Omega technician who serviced the watch

  4. English day dates are available from Omega and I believe around £30

TBH guys, this really is a gem of a time piece and in just bloody superb condition[/b]

(waarbij aangetekend: TBH betekent to be honest).

HI Menno

The watch was serviced by my best mate Wayne Clarke at Omega Vintage in London (head of service) but not as an offical job (otherwise the price would be more like £1200) pushers, crown and crystal are all new as are the seals and it comes with a 1 year warranty through me. It doesn’t come with the original parts (from service) but as you can see from my other sales etc the qaulity of my watches is second to none (modest I know)

Hope this helps?

best wishes Tom
