Bedankt voor je reactie Lexaf, zie dat nu pas, n.a.v. net ontvangen samenvatting mail. Het is een gouden kast van 1957 die er nog goed uitziet.

Geen flauw idee, het is wel een goed uurwerk, komt niet “onlogisch” over om zo’n uurwerk te gebruiken.

Ga ervan uit dat je die foto van het uurwerk gezien hebt, met daarin gestanst Ernest Borel met 1 L…
Dat er nu allerlei Fake zaken zijn…maar in 1957? Ik denk zelf dat het een misdruk is geweest, maar wacht nog op antwoord van Borel. Weet ook niet hoever ze terug kunnen gaan m.b.t. serienummers? Want dan zou dat nummer ook fake moeten zijn?

Met 1 L is juist goed, die wijzerplaat is overgeschilderd door een dyslectisch persoon :slight_smile:

Andere tijden hè, de wijzerplaat moest weer “netjes” zijn en goed afleesbaar, de klant kan het niks schelen of ie dan nog “authentiek” is. Als ie de tijd maar kan zien. Enige horloge, gebruiksvoorwerp, e.d.

Our first impression, following your pictures, is a fake watches (BORELL and not BOREL).

Concerning our brand history, we know that the name BOREL has never been modified (BOREL is the name of our founder in 1856).

After a checking of all of your watches pictures, the movement used by this watches is a “Felsa Bidynator” (Felsa = Brand of movement, Bidynator = type of movement), and the brand engraved on rotor is well ERNEST BOREL.

We have here two solution :

  • 1° : 80% :

This watches has undergone a complete rebuild in past (new dial printing for example). We have seen in the past that sometimes some mistakes were made during the restoration (if the dial is erased, the interpretation is sometimes very complicated and the craftsman prints what he thinks is the brand).

  • 2° : 20% :

Printing error at the manufacturing in 1950’

Following those information’s, I think that your watches is well a real ERNEST BOREL, with just the particularity to have spelling mistake in the name !

Wat we al zeiden dus, horloge zeer waarschijnlijk “echt”, wijzerplaat overgeschilderd (dat witte glimmende is daar typisch voor) en de “restaurateur” was heel erg dyslectisch.
