FRANCK MULLER GROUP ACQUIRES MARTIN BRAUN
It’s been a busy year for German watchmaker Martin Braun. On the heels of moving his Pforzheim-based company to Porrentruy, Switzerland, and finally realizing the manufacture of his own base movement, MAB 88, Braun recently surprised the watch world with an even bigger announcement: 51 percent of Martin Braun is now owned by the Franck Muller Group.
“For me, this means a great deal of financial pressure falling from my shoulders,” Braun explains. “For the company, it means a very advantageous distribution structure in other parts of the world.”
Braun, most well-known for his astronomical complications, expects no undesired change. “All product development and policymaking will remain with me. It wouldn’t make any sense for it to be otherwise. Every brand must retain its own personality. Martin Braun will remain Martin Braun.”
