Ik had vorige week contact met een private seller op chrono24 over een mooie IWC.
Echter kwamen we er met de prijs niet helemaal uit en de volgende dag melde de verkoper dat hij het horloge had verkocht aan iemand in de UK. Prima, ik bedankte de verkoper dat hij me i.i.g. liet weten dat het horloge niet meer beschikbaar was.
Gisteren stuurde de verkoper echter een mailtje dat hij door chrono24 was ingelicht dat de koper een mogelijke fraudeur was en dat hij alsnog op mijn laatste bod kon ingaan. Hij stuurde ook het mailtje van chrono24 door, deze wil ik jullie niet onthouden:

It was broth to our attention that you have received a text message or an email from a certain scammer that is under a few aliases: Wilson Douglas, Alexander Stenslie, Karl Hartmann, Rivli Johnny and Knecht Christian.
Do not engage with him in any kind of conversation it is a PayPal scammer, he will send fake Paypal emails to steal your watch.
Please report all the conversations that you had with the scammer by replying to this email.

Wat mij opvalt naast de nodige taal en spelfouten is dat het mij onwaarschijnlijk lijkt dat iemand van het fraud prevention team van chrono24 (als dat al bestaat) zou mailen met een gmail email adres. En als ze dat wel zouden doen, dan ook nog hun naam verkeerd zouden spellen.
Ik heb dit ook gemeld aan de verkoper, en die bedankte mij voor mijn reactie, verder niks.
Ik snap nou niet helemaal wat nou de bedoeling is van de verkoper?
Lijkt me ook niet helemaal veilig
Het lijkt er op dat hij je vertrouwen wil winnen door het bericht door te zetten, maar gezien de slechte Engelse tekst zou ik het niet vertrouwen.
Ik zou het bericht door sturen naar Chrono24 en om een reactie vragen
Stolen trusted seller ( please don’t trust to chrono24 )
Until now , 4 trusted sellers from Chrono have stolen my money and they didn’t sent any watch to me . The list of them is :
1- GOLDSMITH or JP finance from Estonia by manager of : Jevgeni Lobats
He stoled 2750€ and he makes a photoshop that we sent your money back to you , but they were fraud and stealer !
2- TIMELUXE from France . I bought a patek Philippe. They didn’t sent box and paper and also they removed all extra link before sending to me and I lost 8500€
3- and too many other trusted seller that lie too much . For example lie for reference number of watches or original paper or condition of watches , … They are only Spam ,…
Chrono answers in all cases :

eBay is very more reliable than Chrono24 .
If you see a watch in chrono24 and really you are interesting to buy it , please invite the seller to eBay and then buy it from there . In Chrono24 you don’t have any guarantee for watches or return your money back !!!
Wel geraffineerd om eerst de tijd te nemen om te onderhandelen, dan netjes te laten weten dat het horloge verkocht is. Vervolgens je daarna te wijzen op een koper die fraudeur zou zijn en je dan de genadeklap te geven met een fakedeal. Alles onderbouwd met een valse mail.
