G-Shock Test Modes
Note: Tested on G-Shock GW-2310-1 and GW-M850-1
Press and hold the following simultaneously:
Top Left, Top Right & Bottom Left - Tilt sensor test (shows TLT)
Time display area shows blank when not tilted, 8888 when tilted
Press Bottom Right to escape
Top Left, Top Right & Bottom Right- Solar cell test (shows SLR)
Time display area shows blank when exposed to light, 8888 when there is insufficient light
Press Bottom Right to escape
Bottom Left, Bottom Right & Top Left - Display test (and module version)
Press Bottom Right to scroll through various screens and escape
Bottom Left, Bottom Right & Top Right - Time sync hardware test
Shows radio-controlled transmitter countries/frequencies, etc.
Press Bottom Right to scroll through various screens
Press Bottom Left to escape
Pathfinder/Protrek Test Modes
Note: Tested on Pathfinder PAW-2000-1
Press and hold the following in sequence:
ADJUST+MODE+ALTI - Display test mode
Press ALTI to scroll through various screens and escape
ADJUST+MODE+COMP - Tilt sensor test mode (shows TLT)
Time display area shows blank when not tilted, 8888 when tilted
Press ALTI or MODE to escape
Note: Tested on Pro Trek PRW-3500-1
Press and hold the following in sequence:
ADJUST+MODE+ALTI - Display test mode
Press ALTI to scroll through various screens and escape
ADJUST+MODE+COMP - Solar cell test/Tilt sensor test (shows SLR/TLT)
Time display area shows blank when exposed to light, 8888 when there is insufficient light
Press MODE to switch to TLT
Time display area shows blank when not tilted, 8888 when tilted
Press ALTI to escape
Note: Tested on ProTrek PRW-S6000Y-1
Display Test
To enter test modes, press and hold Upper Left, Lower Left and Lower Right until HOD is displayed.
Press Upper Right to show the first display pattern.
Press Lower Right to show the remaining display patterns (one of which shows all display elements in use simultaneously), the module number, some unfamiliar code (004) and exit.
Tilt Sensor Test
To enter test modes, press and hold Upper Left, Lower Left and Lower Right until HOD is displayed.
Press Lower Right until TLT is displayed.
With the crystal pointing upward, press Upper Right to initiate the tilt sensor test.
Tilt the crystal toward horizontal, and 888 is displayed if the tilt sensor is working.
Press Lower Right to exit.
Solar Panel Test
To enter test modes, press and hold Upper Left, Lower Left and Lower Right until HOD is displayed.
Press Lower Right until SLR is displayed.
Press Upper Right to initiate the solar panel test.
With sufficient light, the display will be blank. With insufficient light (e.g., blocking light from hitting the solar panel in an area with moderate to dim lighting), 888 is displayed.
Press Lower Right to exit.
Time Sync Hardware Test
To enter test modes, press and hold Upper Left, Lower Left and Lower Right until HOD is displayed.
Press Lower Right until RCV is displayed.
Press Upper Right to initiate the time sync hardware test.
Press Lower Right to show various time sync values (transmitters that are supported, etc.).
Press Lower Left to exit.

Press Bottom Right (Forward) to scroll through various screens and escape
Top Left (Adjust), Top Right (Reverse) & Bottom Left (Mode) - Solar cell test/Tilt sensor test (shows SLR/TLT)

Press Bottom Left (Mode) to switch to TLT
Time display area shows blank when not tilted, 8888 when tilted
Press Bottom Right (Forward) to escape
