The Horological Brothers, Bart and Tim Grönefeld take home their second GPHG award.
GRAND PRIX D’HORLOGERIE DE GENÈVE
Just a few minutes ago, brothers Bart and Tim Grönefeld, were elated to receive the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève award for the best Men’s watch of 2016!
The GPHG is considered the ‘Oscars of Watchmaking’ and was held at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva, Switzerland on November 10th, 2016. More than 1.500 guests attended the red-carpet gala ceremony.
An international 25-member jury has chosen the Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire as the best watch in the men’s category.
Presented at Baselworld earlier this year, the Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire features an eight seconds constant force mechanism. The jury praised the aesthetics of the new case and dial but also the spectacular view and the mechanical art of the movement.
This is not the Remontoires first prize. In fact this GPHG award is the FIFTH prize! Earlier this year the Remontoire took the “Special Jury Prize” of Temporis in Bucharest, shortly after a prize at the SIAR watch fair in Mexico and last but not least: two prizes in Warshaw, Poland. The best “Classic Watch” and the best overall prize: The “Grand Prix”.
ABOUT THE 1941 REMONTOIRE
The Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire features an eight seconds constant force mechanism, ensuring the force serving the balance wheel does not wane.
From the mainspring being fully wound to the last minute of the 35 hours of power reserve, when the stop works intervenes, the force never fluctuates.
The result is that the amplitude and rate remain consistent, leading to superior precision.

SIHH
We are honoured that the organisation of the “Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie” did ask Bart and Tim to joint the next years exhibitions. This major event, with many of the worlds leading watch brands, takes place near Geneva’s airport form the 16th until the 20th of January 2017.
For the first time ever the 2017 edition of the SIHH will be open to public on Friday the 20th.
