Ik kreeg zojuist een email van Stowa met ’ Burglary" in de titel.
Ik dacht dus, waarschijnlijk hebben ze hele goede aanbiedingen oid. Maar wat blijkt, er is in de nacht van dinsdag op woensdag een grote inbraak bij ze geweest.
Helaas zijn hierbij heel veel spullen meegenomen. Speciale modellen tot antieke zak horloges. Maar ook alles van wat in de kerst sale zat
Heel erg droevig is dit. Stowa is een leuk kleinschalig horlogemaker met flink wat historie . Hopelijk lukt het ze om hier zonder veel schade uit te komen.
Misschien is het leuk de tekst van de mail hier even te delen, want diegenen die niet op de maillijst staan hebben waarschijnlijk geen enkel idee waar dit over gaat. Zoals ik.
PS De titel een beetje clickbate. Zou daar “inbraak Stowa” van maken.
the news of burglaries are increasing: now it has hit Stowa as well.
During the course of the night from Wednesday to Thursday our production building in Engelsbrand including the museum was broken into and numerous current watches, movements as well as historic (gold) watches from the 30’s until 70’s were stolen.
The damage cannot yet be precisely quantified, but is probably in the high six-figure range. Even worse than the material value, is the ideal value of very seldom and historic Stowa watches, amongst them the historic Marine pocket watch.
Please be cautious and do not purchase any current or historic Stowa watches without the original documents and packing.
For this very reason we will not be able to continue our current christmas sale and will only have a few days left with our special offers. The watches for our sale have been stolen.

Ben benieuwd waar ‘de buit’ van zo’n inbraak uiteindelijk terecht komt. Vooral die ouwe spullenboel lijkt me niet zo makkelijk te slijten. Meestal unieke stukken.
