Ahmed II Pasha Bey (1862-1942) from the Husaynid dynasty was Bey of Tunis and ruler of Tunisia from 1929 until his death in 1942.
Lieutenant-colonel of the Beylical army, he was invested crown prince on 14 January 1928 and succeeded his late cousin Habib Bey on 11 February 1929.

The Ḥusaynid dynasty was the ruling dynasty of Tunisia from 1705 until the establishment of the Republic of Tunisia in 1957. Both beautiful and technically advanced, the present gold-cased watch is set with over 100 rose-cut diamonds and featuring a movement entirely in gold with Fallet’s patented one-minute tourbillon. It is believed to be unique, made by Invicta as a special order for Ahmed II Pasha Bey of Tunisia, with his emblem and Islamic year indication 1351 for 1932 in diamonds.

The movement for this type of central tourbillon watch was patented by Louis and Edouard Fallet Fils of St. Imier in 1905 under Swiss Patent no. 34394, this patent number is punched on the movement of the present watch. A silver cased version of the Fallet patent tourbillon watch signed Courvoisier is in the British Museum (Museum no. 1958.1201.1201).

Another unusual feature is the regulator-style dial, placing the emphasis on the outer centre seconds as opposed to the traditional time.
