N.A. Candino Submarine - blij mee!

Op eBay staat een “Supercompressor variant” (volgens mij niet origineel, verkoper hint er ook al naar).

I just recently bought a Candino Submarine Divers watch on Ebay - bought on the 28th September from a seller based in Portugal. I was doiung a general search on Google and found this website and would you believe, it’s the exact same watch. So it’s been around since 2015 - not sure where it’s been but it’s now in the UK and been wearing it every day for the last two weeks - Made one small adjustment to timing and is keeping excellent time - about 15-30 seconds a day accuracy.
Hands have obviously been re-lumed at some point and winder may not be original, but overall a nice watch and bought at a good price.

It’s still on that (seal) strap? I put that on. Think I sold it to someone in Spain, but might have been Portugal…

You got it for a good price too! Enjoy it!

Hi,
Yes - I was pleased with the price, which included free shipping as well. I assume it’s mid 1960’s vintage. Hands certainly re-lumed. Nice clean movement. May get it serviced in next year or two. But happy with it running accurately and no problems to date.
Would be nice to have it re-sealed and pressure tested to waterproof. But?,…

For this price, I’d just enjoy it, wear the hell out of it and have it serviced only when it starts acting up. Overall, is a rather generic ETA movt.

I note that buying a new ETA 2472 auto movement would cost about 330 Euros (approx £290 Sterling)
That’s without any adjustments. I suppose being nearly 60 years old in its technology, the ETA 2472 was ‘cutting edge’ then but is, as you say, quite ‘generic’ now - but a good overall workhorse.
