Zó die lag snel vanuit de UK op de mat. Laatste uit mijn recente koopwoede (de Ingersoll staat op MP trouwens, de advertentie voor de Yema duiker (verkocht) liep nog een tijdje).
Ik had natuurlijk recent een Candino opgespoord (en helaas flink moeten laten ‘overhaul-en’) met massa patina, maar nu, wat mij betreft (en daar ga ik mijn best voor doen) ‘the next Calypsomatic’.

A very nice example of a '60s military diver, the Candino Sub was a Vietnam candidate and later dive watches were used by both the French and Italian armed forces. Candino launched the Submarine line of dive watches in the mid-60s with a WR of 800 feet when the Rolex Sub was marketed at 660 feet.
A rarely seen and highly collectible period diver in wonderful original condition throughout. Excellent condition stainless steel case with extended dropped lugs. Case back reads 'submarine case full proof - pressurised - 800ft - 20ATM’
Stunning original black dial and hands with a lovely patina to the markers

The quality of this piece is reflected in the movement the case houses: a 25 jewel Swiss automatic ‘gilded’ ETA 2472 adjusted in 6 positions
The movement is running perfectly and keeping excellent time.

En bij een ‘submarine’ verwacht je natuurlijk een… speedboat op de achterkant:
Leuk Jeroen. Ik kende Candino vooral als leverancier van het Zweedse leger, wat alleen maar meehelpt als dit de nieuwe Calypsomatic moet worden natuurlijk. Ik lees trouwens dat de Technos Skydiver de ‘poor man’s’ Calypsomatic wordt.

Prachtig!.. ik had gisteren een vertegenwoordiger op bezoek, die Ook een Candino horloge droeg… van zijn opa geweest… ik kende het merk eerlijk gezegd niet… maar ik was onder de indruk van de vormgeving en de afwijking… 'k zei hem dan ook… ongeacht de herkomst… koesteren dit horloge…
Stoere duiker… mooie vormgeving… lekker eigen smoel… Top!
