" The watch factory “Raketa”, in cooperation with the cosmonaut, twice hero of the Soviet Union, Alexander Ivanchenkov, have launched a renewed model of the watch Raketa “Copernicus”.
“Copernicus” is an iconic model, its design goes beyond the bounds of a of classical watch design and aspires into space. The first model of “Copernicus” was released in the early 80’s, at that times the artists were inspired by the cosmic themes.
This legendary watch has become a real gem for most of the watch collectors and today it has obtained a new look. It features a dark blue watch dial resembling the night skies and hands in the shape of planets. Design of the dial displays the phenomena of the total solar eclipse.
Only the true cosmonaut could describe the atmosphere of space. Alexander Ivanchenko was in space twice as an engineer of the space station “Soyuz” and travelled in the open space two times. The cosmonaut shared his experience with Raketa designers, so as the result new generation of Raketa “Copernicus” was launched.
New “Copernicus” is already available at the best watch shops in Russia and soon will be presented at the watch boutique in Paris, at Place Vendome.
The Petrodvorets Watch Factory «Raketa», Russia’s oldest factory, was founded by Peter the Great in 1721. The Factory is producing watches under the brand «Pobeda» (Victory) since the End of World War II. In 1961 the brand «Raketa» was launched in honor of Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
The Petrodvorets Watch Factory is one of the rare watch factories in the world that fully manufactures its own movements from A to Z, including hairspring and escapement. "
Toch hè, zo’n ontwerp voelt toch een beetje alsof het is gemaakt omdat het leuk gevonden moet worden door Raketa fans, geforceerd dus.
De prijzen vind ik ook niet echt in verhouding, wel? Benieuwd wat deze Copernicus moet gaan kosten.

en ja deze zal denk ik alleen door de echte liefhebber mooi en leuk en gaaf gevonden worden…
Iemand in de Russian watches facebook groep heeft em, echt een fantastisch mooi horloge. Ik kan de copernicus niet meer vinden op de Raketa shop en volgens hem waren ze nu uitverkocht. Prijs was iets van 900 piek meen ik te herinneren.
De Raketa’s lijken me originele exemplaren te zijn.
Ik heb het model ook in de verzameling, het bandje is wel Chinees.
Ps. Vandaag is de prijs met $10 verhoogd, het gaat waarschijnlijk te vlot met de verkoop.
Ja, dat is mijn probleem met het ding ook. Ik heb 20.5 cm polsen, en alles onder de 38, 39 mm is me echt te klein, hoe leuk ik de Copernicus ook vind. Die nieuwe heeft dan een betere maat (40.5 mm) maar die prijs…
Ik heb er eentje gehad maar na een paar weken weer verkocht hier op het forum. Ondanks mijn pols van 17cm leek het horloge te klein en kreeg het daardoor ook nauwelijks draagtijd. Tijd aflezen gaat trouwens ook niet in een oogopslag.
Toch wel een leuk horloge maar meer voor de heb dan om te dragen. Just my 2 cents
