Seiko has announced a pair of JDM Astron models. The SBXY081 has a white dial and the SBXY083 a black dial, case and bracelet. Both models have titanium cases measuring 39.6 x 9.5 x 45.4mm and utilizing the 7B72 radio sync calibre.

Ja die zaratsu rebirth vind ik erg leuk. Nu nog een iets vollere wijzerplaat en GS erop en dan koop ik hem! Als hij uitkomt…
Seiko has announced four new Astron models with a new 5X83 GPS sync calibre featuring a 1/20 second stopwatch function. The SSH151 (SBXC151 JDM) has a blue dial, the SSH153 (SBXC153 JDM) with gray dial, SSH155 (SBXC155 JDM) with black dial, and the two tone SSH156 (SBXC156 JDM) with black dial and golden highlights. All models have titanium cases measuring 43.3 x 13.4 x 49.5mm, except the SSH156 (SBXC156 JDM) that is 43.4mm in diameter and 14.1mm thick due to the case back logo and ceramic crown insert. The bezel inserts are ceramic and the outer polygonal bezel is titanium. The 5X83 calibre has a 1/20th second sub dial at 12 o’clock, and a dual time zone display at 6 o’clock that is also used for minutes and hours when in stopwatch mode. The subdial at 9 o’clock has a multi-indicator for day of the week, airplane mode on/off, battery charge, chronograph mode, etc. The new calibre also syncs faster than previous generations and has improved solar charging efficiency. The SSH156 (SBXC156 JDM) Kentaro Hattori is inspired by the earth at night and the company’s founder, it is a limited edition of 1000 units with 600 of these for the Japanese market. The limited edition model case back has the early Hattori logo and a ceramic insert in the crown.

De Shinkansen-lijn, die de Hokuriku Shinkansen werd , werd gebouwd voor de Olympische Winterspelen van 1998 in Nagano om de gaststad te bedienen.

Een trip met de Shinkansen staat al jaren op mijn bucket list en dan ook maar die black and gold Astron op dezelfde list…

En onderweg een leuke GS kopen…
Dat is geen munt maar een “lapel pin” met de Seikosha s er op. Hetzelfde logo als op de caseback.

Ja, die vind ik wel aardig. Niet zo druk als veel Astrons. En formaat, zo te lezen, ook wel goed. Lastig te beoordelen, vanaf zo’n render, of het niet toch een beetje saaie horloges zijn. Ja en zo hebben we altijd wat te zeiken…

Een soort dasspeld? 
Die bezel met de facetten vind ik wel mooi gemaakt. Weet niet of ik het ook mooi vind ogen, maar het is weer eens wat anders.
Voor de rest vind ik deze modellen te druk. Er gebeurt heel veel op die dials qua structuur, laagjes en kleuren, maar het is voor mij een beetje een horologisch equivalent van een kapsalon 
Nee. Voor in je kraag. Van je jasje. Denk aan de anjer van Bernhard.
Eerder een broche of button dus. Ook zulke mooie Nederlandse woorden.
