Seiko Japan has announced a pair of 2024 Shohei Ohtani Astron models that are the first since his move to the Los Angeles Dodgers in December last year.
The SBXC165 has a blue ceramic central bracelet link and bezel inspired by the teams color. It has a vertical pattern on the black dial with Ohtani-sans uniform number 17 in the sub dial at 9 o’clock.
The SBGX167 has a black case and bracelet with a blue dial.
Both models have titanium cases measuring 43.3 x 13.4 x 49.5mm and utilize the 5X83 GPS solar calibre. Both models are JDM releases with the SBXC165 being a limited edition of 1700 units and the SBXC167 a LE of 500 units.

Pogue reissue?
Seiko has announced a new Prospex SpeedTimer variant with the SSC947 (SBDL117 JDM). This model has a golden sunburst dial with black chapter ring, and a red/blue tachymeter bezel insert. The stainless steel case measures 41.4 x 13 x 45.9mm and it utilizes the V192 solar calibre. This model is a standard addition to the line up and is not a limited edition.

Dit model Seiko was mijn eerste ervaring met een wat duurder horloge. Heb er bijzonder van genoten maar de marketing eromheen dat het een opvolger zou zijn op de eerste speedtimer vond ik misplaatst. Breng dan een echte re issue uit zoals ze met de 62 mas doen ed.
Met deze kleurstelling is in ieder geval dial aardig in lijn.

Damn die zwarte is zo vet. Het lijkt wel op de speciale Alpinist Ginza maar dan met zwarte tegels. Genieten!
De sneeuwschuiver hoeft van mij nooit zo. Maar deze kastvorm ben ik toch wel heel erg fan van. Vanaf de eerste keer dat ik 'm zag, wist ik het meteen: als ik ooit een GS koop, dan wordt 't er een met deze kastvorm.
