Seiko Flightmaster?

Ik zie nu dat Bernardo er een heb, met 'n goudkleurige case, blijkbaar 'n variant die ik over het hoofd gezien heb.

There’s actually more than 5, depending on where you lived in the world, when the 7t34 series was first introduced. The white face, with the red sub-dials also has a brother, he has a black dial, with red sub-dials. There is also a 7t34 “pearl model”. The whole watch dial is done in pearl, with pearl subdials.

Do you have pictures?

I do, but cant upload them, for whatever reason.

It keeps saying the following. An error occurred: Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post.

You are still a new member, you’ll get TL1 in a couple of days and you will be able to.

There is also another variant of the 7t34-6a00. Still in the same class, known as a flightmaster, but it’s also been noted on other forums, as the stargate dial. The normal 7t34-6a00, has ‘pips’ at the hour markers. The stargate has ‘stones’ similar to the time travel device, used in the movie and television program, “Stargate”. Not sure if it viewed in Holland or not.

If you go to Google or Yandex etc, type in Seiko 7t34-6a20, you will see photo’s etc. I don’t own one, as the prices for these can be up around AUD $800 - $900

In hindsight, I should have purchased one before COVID, prices were much more affordable back then. Lifes mistakes.

Ik draag de mijne nooit. Heb er pas weer een batterij in laten zetten en watersicht laten maken. Maar is toch niet mijn ding.

@Bernardo I never wear mine either. As the batteries went flat, they were removed. My daily wearer is a 7T62-0JR0.

Another variant of @Bernardo’s watch is the colour of the chapter ring. As well as the case being either gold or chrome, the chapter ring could be in white or gold colour. There is also a panda and reverse panda version of the 7T34-6A00. Included but not forgotten is the 7T34-6A20, a collectors piece. See picture.

The grandfather of the 6A00, is the 6B00, came in panda, reverse panda and variants of black, white and blue dials / subdials, with black, blue bezels. Another variant was numerals on the dial, instead of ‘pips’ at the hour markers. I am lucky to own a reverse panda, my first watch, I bought in 1979.

The 1st pic is the 6B00 with numerals on the dials, instead of pips. The 2nd is 7T34-6A00, with pearl dial, gold hour markers and blue hands. The 3rd is my 6B00 reverse panda, the 4th is my daily wearer, a 7T62-0JR0. The last pic is an option if you have a spare 7T34 or 7T36 laying around.

Na wat zoekwerk blijkt de Flightmaster met de parelmoer wijzerplaat 'n mod te zijn, wijzerplaat komt van 'n 7T34 7A40, wel mooi maardus niet origineel.

Mine came from a jeweller in Sydney, many years ago. (Various options were available, from memory, for any Seiko that he had for sale). Has all the Seiko data and literature, Seiko approved, so Im happy… Mine doesn’t have luminous hands or hour markers though.?? So slightly different dials. Mine is a day wear watch only. It’s as much use at night, as a flashlight with no batteries.

I believe the dial diamaters are different across these two models as well. The dial from one, will not fit in the other model, due to the case differences. Like you say, beautiful but perhaps not original in the true sense.

An often overlooked Flightmaster is the 7T34-0AA0. Four basic colours, (that I know of), Black, White, Red & Blue. This model had an inner rotating bezel, which was cranked by a crown, at the 9 o;clock position on the watch case.

In Australia, there was no such thing as a Seiko Flightmaster, that’s basically a made-up name by Seiko lovers. My earliest recollection was back in 1989, where it was then known as the Speed Master series, then from 1991 - 1995, the Sky Professional.

In all the catalogues, I have, none of the watches shown by all on this forum, appear in any of the catalogues. Which made me think, that maybe you had to live in a certain area, to obtain one, or that was what you got, according to Seiko (Japan). You certaianly, couldn’t get them in Australia. Were they available in other countries. ???

I did some checking on my Satan 7T34, with the red dials. Turns out, it’s an option watch, not an ordinary 7T, that you buy over the counter. In the old day’s, you could walk into a jeweller, see the basic model, (7T34-6A00) and choose what colours you wanted. If you wanted a gold case, gold bracelet, you ordered it, pay a deposit, your watch was sent over to Seiko (Australia) and the options done by techs. When your watch was ready, you went back to the jeweller, paid for it and took it home. So my Satan 7T34 is a one off. Totally legit, optioned by Seiko (Australia), with all the build sheets, data sheets and details of the original owner. I’m the 2nd owner.

Now in Australia, we have what’s called the Seiko Boutique. (1st opened in 2012). You view a Seiko, you like at the Jewellers, choose from a myriad of options, the same as you would, if you ordered and bought a Rolls Royce. The Boutique, will fulfill your request and you then have a one off.

Seiko Boutique

According to the Boutique, Special Order Products are often particularly rare, bespoke or otherwise difficult to obtain or sell to other customers so there is no refunds, returns, credits, or exchanges available on Special Order Products.

Watch Option Conditions

Does anyone have any info on the watches pasted in the thread, did anyone buy them at a store, or are they also one off creations by the owner, through Seiko (Japan).

A shot of my 7T62-0HM0, which I knicknamed Thor’s Hammer, because of the start / stop function peddle for the stopwatch, instead of a button or pusher, sitting between my 7T62-0JR0’s. I searched the forum for the 0HM0, but couldn’t find a thread. It might also be under the SNA number. I didn’t look.

Forgot to add, it’s a flightmaster of sorts. It has an internal bezel, rather than an external bezel. Which is turned by the crank, at the 9pm position.

Zag toevallig net zo een flightmaster/flightcomputer te koop op 2dehands nadat ik dit leuke draadje las.
Deel het even hier voor wie er nog een zoekt
