"If you can, try to get a 7S26B version. It is the same as the 7S26(A) movement, and they are all 21 jewel, but it is the newer revision, and they are generally regulated more accurately directly from the factory.
The “J” or “K” represents the country of manufacture. The “J” means it is specifically made in Japan. If it has a “K”, it was made elsewhere, like Malaysia or Singapore. You will pay more for the “J”, and the general verdict is that the quality is the same, regardless of the country of manufacture. All Seiko factories have the same quality control standards.
The last number or letter seems to represent the style bracelet or strap that the watch comes with.
I would personally recommend the SKX007K-P or SKX007J-P (if you want the Japanese made model), as the “P” represents the President style bracelet, which is a nice, high quality, and comfortable bracelet.
Also, in case you haven’t seen it, the SKX173 is the North American market equivalent to the SKX007. Chronograph.com doesn’t sell them, but search on google and you can see what it looks like. It has rectangular hour markers instead of round, and a different second hand, but is otherwise the same."
