De speciale Mario Andretti editie. Helemaal seventies vibes, de vlaggetjes, de carbon fiber, de handtekening van Mario. Voorzien van de Seiko VK64 Mechanical-Quartz. Kastdiameter van 39mm, kastdikte 13mm (inclusief de mooie ‘koepel’) en lugs van 19mm. Op de originele YEMA mesh bracelet.

Kreeg een kerstgroet van YEMA binnen. Ik vind dit zo’n leuk/sympathiek merk; o.a. door de manier waarop ze communiceren over hun toekomstplannen, de investeringen (bijv. 15 nieuwe werktafels gemaakt door een beroemde lokale timmerman Grosso 
maar ook welke mensen ze hebben aangenomen (Nicolas en Oliver zijn dé mannen).
Overigens wordt het inhouse YEMA uurwerk buitenshuis geproduceerd. De bedoeling is dat dat echt helemaal inhouse wordt

YEMA’s 2021 Retrospective
Dear Yema amateurs,
During the past 12 months YEMA has gradually upgraded its watchmaking equipment and working methodologies in order to increase quality of manufacturing and assembling. This continuous process involves 3 major areas of development:
WATCHMAKERS TEAM
End of 2020, YEMA appointed Nicolas Bailly as Quality Assurance & Technical Manager. Nicolas has contributed to further improve our internal Quality Control processes.
Start of 2021, YEMA’s watchmakers team was reinforced with the recruitment of Olivier Mory and Patrick Augereau as technical consultants. Olivier and Patrick are working on specific watchmaking R&D innovation projects, including the internalization of our In-house Calibers’ components manufacturing.
During 2021, YEMA also started to work in close collaboration with a renowned R&D institute based in Besançon (associated with France’s Scientific Research National Center) in the fields of Micro-mechanics and Micro-engineering, so as to support the R&D work of Olivier and Patrick.
WATCHMAKING WORKSHOPS MODERNIZATION
Earlier this year we started renovation works so as to expand our workshops’ surface in Morteau up to 17,000 ft2 spread over 4 floors. Our watchmakers now benefit from latest watchmaking equipment and technology, including fifteen new workbenches designed by Laurent Grosso (local, recognised carpenter), dust-free work stations, more efficient watchmaking machines and two new stock rooms of 180m2 and 60m2 respectively equipped with Mecalux storage.
INTERNALIZATION OF MANUFACTURING
YEMA’s vision is to create value by proposing proprietary watchmaking components and reaching full independence from third-party manufacturing partners. This ambitious project is reaching substantial progress and once concluded it will mark the renaissance of French watchmaking tradition that has long since disappeared. We are proud of our current hybrid proprietary manufacturing model but we aim at becoming a fully vertically integrated manufacture soon.
All these massive evolutions require significant ongoing investments. We’ve also been innovative in finding alternative funding channels aiming at preserve the SME family-run business aspect of the brand, like for example Kickstarter, a fund-raising platform through which the new Wristmaster collection was successfully launched recently.
We got very positive feedback from the first clients who received their watch and many among you have reached to us asking if they could order a Wristmaster timepiece. We are happy to announce that a second small batch of Wristmaster watches is now available through our Official Store (100 pieces available per model shipping in April 2022 and a small stock of 50 Wristmaster Adventurer Blue available for immediate delivery).

Ik blijf de Yema Flygraf Pilot M1 cool vinden. Mooie details: de verticale brushed bezel, de matte zwarte wijzerplaat en dat logo op het deksel. Ook bijzonder is die 30 bar voor een pilotenhorloge.
Inhouse Yema 2000 automatisch uurwerk, 39mm diameter en 19mm lugs. Nog steeds op de originele canvas/leren band.
