Edward is net zo’n domme suflul als Andrew, maar zijn vele male intelligentere vrouw Sophie heeft hem waarschijnlijk behoed voor dezelfde misstappen als Randy Andy (wiens Fergie hem in contact bracht met Ghislaine Maxwell).

Rick Nielsen van Cheap Trick met een Seiko Pulsemeter en een Casio Pacerunner. Als ik de foto’s mag geloven, heeft ie van allebei een rode en een zwarte variant gehad. Zijn allebei nou best wel wat waard!

Ik zat vanavond een beetje Fifth Gear te kijken op youtube en toen herinnerde ik me weer dat Tiff Needell ook een paar interessante horloges heeft gedragen door de jaren heen. Als eerste een Seiko Speedmaster A781, dezelfde als Ayrton Senna had. (Zie een paar posts terug)

In de latere jaren droeg hij vaak een Breitling Navitimer met een ETA7750-layout en nog later een paar JLC’s. Hieronder geloof ik een JLC Amvox Chronograph.

The Wu-Tang Clan is one of the most influential rap groups of all time. However, scholarship on the Clan remains sparse. Previous scholarship largely omits the group, focuses on their rise and fall, or examines the group’s business plan. These works omit the Clan’s radical politics. Through historizing and contextualizing the group’s lyrics and sound, this chapter argues that they advocate Black Power. Their approach differed from other contemporary political rap groups, namely, Public Enemy. The group’s lyrics provide a hidden transcript. For example, the frequent reference to the Five Percent Nation of Islam (NOI) explains and promotes the Black Nationalist tradition of the NOI. In addition to the Five Percent theology, this chapter examines their use of Kung Fu movies and street stories to demonstrate Clan members’ version of Black Power. This interpretation adds to knowledge in several ways. It recasts the group as a political rap group, rather than a collage of disparate elements. It also expands the chronological scope of the golden age of rap nationalism as put forth by scholar Charise Cheney. It provides another long-term result of the Black Power movement.
