Grand Seiko has announced the SBGD223 Masterpiece inspired by a lion emerging from the darkness.
This was created by the Micro Artist Studio and features the company’s first pavé setting.
The watch uses a combination of diamonds and black spinels, with over 600 diamonds set into the platinum 950 case that measures 44.5 x 14.4 x 52mm. It utilizes the 9R01 manual wind Spring Drive calibre. This is a limited edition of 8 units with 6 for the Japanese market.

The dial showcases the iconic Mt. Iwate pattern, its texture inspired by the ridges of the mountain. This time, the dial is presented in a striking shade of purple, paying tribute to the purple kiri —the official flower of Iwate Prefecture.
Powering the SBGW323 is the hand-assembled Caliber 9S64, a manual-winding mechanical movement that undergoes 17 days of testing in six positions—which is more stringent than the chronometer standard. It offers a 72-hour power reserve and meets the Grand Seiko Standard of +5 to -3 seconds per day in static conditions.

Vind de ufa claim beetje ver gezocht qua specs eigenlijk, kijkend naar mijn springdrive doet die 0.1sec per dag en zou dus al binnen deze claim vallen.

Ik vind de clasp lelijker. Of hij net zo comfortabel gaat zijn moeten we gaan zien.
Ik vind het een matige ontwikkeling.
En ik ben geen Superman fan, dus ik wil helemaal geen Fortress of solitude om de pols

Ziet er niet verkeerd uit… Maar toch is die van iwc/glashütte original/brogioli beter.
7mm geloof ik in dat kleine design en het logo is de snelverstelknop, je hoeft het horloge niet af te doen.

Grappig dat de scharnieren van binnen nog steeds gebeveled zijn om comfort te garanderen, maar dat ze omgeven worden door een clasp met scherpe randen.
Man man man man man. Ik denk dat ik m’n Shunbun nog maar even houd.
$320K? Even nadenken. Nee.
Kan en wil het ook never nooit niet betalen voor dit diamanten hok.
Serieus? Een leeuw die aan de horizon verschijnt tegen de opkomende zon met een Louis Vuitton sjaaltje (sorry @Jurk) en een Prada zonnebril op weg naar de dealert voor een diamanten neusring? Cool.
