Mooi klokje van goede kwaliteit, met zwanenhals fijnafstelling. 
EDIT: zou weleens een ‘Railroad Grade’ uurwerk kunnen zijn, als je de goede kwaliteit ziet in combinatie met de 21 Jewels en Arabische cijfers op de witte plaat. Die hadden gepatenteerde regulators en hier zie ik ook een patentnummer onder de balans staan… Dan zou de waarde wel relatief hoog kunnen uitvallen.
Let wel; ik ben geen expert; er zijn hier mensen die er veel meer van weten

I’ve just picked up this pocket watch and it was easy to find out the brand with “The complete price guide to watches”.
Case and movement are identical numbered.
Also the silver marks were not difficult to find, they are Chester Assay marks.
I have only a problem with dating, the watch could be from 1808 or 1830.
Could somebody help me out with this, it would be much appriciated by me.

The Coventry Cooperative Watch Manufacturing Society was established in the late 19th C and
represent some of the last traditionaly made English watches. The hallmark on your
watch is for 1895...nice find.

This is a going barrel watch - this corroborates Radger's dates.

Hi Frans,
A 'Going Barrel' is usually applied to English watches and simply
means that the gear train is driven directly from the barrel which
contains the mainspring.... ie the barrel has teeth cut into it and it is the
'first wheel' in the train sometimes termed the 'Great Wheel'.
Before the 'Going Barrel' English watches used a Fusee mechanism
and the fusee cone was the 'first or great wheel', the fusee cone being
driven directly from the barrel via a chain or in earlier mechanisms, by
gut. The fusee being a device to give mechanical advantage to the spring
as it winds down and so even out the torque.
Your watch is a Full plate watch with gold solid balance and going barrel.
It has seven jewels...this can be known because all English watches of this
type have at least a jewelled escapement consisting of two pivot jewels to the
balance, two endstones to the balance, a ruby pin to the roller and
two pallet stones.
This watch harks back to an earlier age than the hallmark suggests and it's
no surprise that you thought it was much earlier. English watchmaking was in
its death throes at this time and your watch is the Coventry watchmaker attempts
to try and hold onto traditional English watchmaking and make it still viable in
a world when cheap imports were becoming the norm.

About the Coventry Watch Company I’ve found this piece of text:
A group of traditional watch-makers formed a Cooperative Society in 1876
(Coventry Cooperative Watch Manufacturing Society) in order to better cope
with the Swiss and American competition. They used traditional hand-made
watch manufacture methods and never adapted to machine made methods,
so there watches were effectively the last of the hand-made watches from
the midlands, thereby ending a centuries old dominance of the watch trade.
Very few watches, possibly only 5-6 have been seen with the full company
trade mark symbol to the movement and even fewer, 2-3 have this repeated
to the silver case. There watches are very rare examples of a long defunct
industry from a last effort by traditional craftsman to group together to survive.
By ca. 1900 the company appeared to have ceased making watches or
buying in ebauches to finish and sell.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you we are a bit short handed
also I think there has been a problem with the network.
However your picture of your watch are very good nice and clear.
First of all the only records we have found is that the
Coventry Co-operative Watch Manufacturing Soceity
was set up in 1876 when they register there trade mark.
The were working at 35 Mount Street Chaplefield Coventry until 1900
Then at Stanley Terrace until 1918 when cease trading.
The CCWMS was one of the founding members of the Co-operative Union which is still
going today.
In england all watch case made from silver or Gold were hallmark
your is hallmark at Chester Assay office in 1895 and that the only
information that I can give you as we have no other recirds.

Dit is volgens mij een horloge uitvoering die in een dashboard van een auto wordt bevestigd.
Wat ook mogelijk is dat het in een inklapbare foudraal heeft gezeten, de opwinfas zit dan ook altijd aan de 6 kant.

Ik heb er twee…een opwinder van Marti (schijnt een huismerk van een juwelier uit de jaren '80 te zijn) die prima loopt zo’n 30-40 uur…en een souvenirtje met een Quartz uurwerkje…
Deze is van mijn opa geweest.
Vandaag deze de hele dag gedragen, blijft een prachtklokje, zowel door het uitmuntende uurwerk, als het zeer simpele en duidelijke, maar toch zeer stijlvolle ontwerp!
